The DSSG began as the “Diplomatic Order of the Knights of St. Gabriel” (DOKSG) in 1996 in the UN Community in New York City. Initially composed of Catholic Diplomats, with founding members hailing from Diplomatic Missions, the UN Secretariat and UN-accredited NGOs, Gabriel obtained recognition from the International Alliance of Catholic Knights (IACK). The DOKSG then evolved to become the “Diplomatic Society of St. Gabriel” (DSSG), legally registered with the United States Federal and Washington State Governments as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and listed with the UN System and other International Organizations.

The DSSG is led by its Chancellor, Dr. Jesus R.S. Domingo, a Career Diplomat and presently Assistant Secretary of the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs for UN & International Organizations (DFA-UNIO). Ambassador Willam H. Weiss serves as Chancellor Emeritus. He is presently Consul a.h. of the Republic of Malta for the US Pacific Northwest and past Ambassador of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta (SMOM). Commodore Ramon Jose Sebastia-Moreno is the DSSG Secretary-General. Mr. J. Edgar Ledonio is the DSSG Archivist. ┬áThe DSSG’s Headquarters is located in Seattle, USA; Secretariat in Manila, Philippines with Coordinators in Geneva, Manila, New York, The Hague and Washington DC.

The Society is fortunate to enjoy the guidance of His Eminence Luis Cardinal Tagle, Archbishop of Manila, His Eminence Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales, Archbishop Emeritus of Manila, His Eminence Ricardo Cardinal Vidal, Archbishop Emeritus of Cebu, His Excellency Archbishop Silvano Tomasi, Papal Nuncio to the UN in Geneva, and Her Excellency Mrs. Merceditas Tuazon, Ambassador of the Philippines to the Holy See.
